A figure crouches mid-motion here, limbs bent at sharp angles, its body a patchwork of red, blue, and grey held together by bold, unbroken black outlines against a soft lavender field. There’s an athleticism to the pose weight low, one hand reaching toward the ground but the fragmented color blocks give the body a fractured, almost mechanical quality, joints and sections visible where a smoother figure would simply flow. Where the first Paper Skin held its shape through sharp, static edges, this one takes that same fragility into movement proof that something built from pieces can still bend, crouch, and reach without falling apart. Paper Skin II suggests resilience isn’t the absence of fracture, but the ability to move fluidly even while visibly assembled from parts.
